    HEY EVERYONE,
I am a journalism student from New York University and writing a report on the fans of the show Saregamapa Little Champs - the last season. I would love to interview some fans online or on phone, whatever suits you. Could you kindly email me at saniajhankar@gmail.com if you willing to have a quick interview with me. That will be of great help to me. Thank you so much.

    Hi guys,

I’m back.. was watching the archives episodes.. Saregamapa has come a long way..

Tt’s no longer an exclusive (to) music program which belies its name..

I really miss the old Sonu Nigam/Ayaaz Ayaam format.. now its all the pop and EMET element.. and controversy with all that public voting..

At that time singer quality was decided by judges who are/were legends and know music like the back of their hand.

The old format gave us Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghosal, Kumar Ganjawala. I’m not saying that we still dont get great singers - thank God we have judges until the final 10 - but after that…..
Challenge 2005 Nihira and Hemachandra should have been the final 2 (Debojit shouldnt even have been in the final 10)

Lil Champs 2006 - Abrokanti and that Gujju girl with name starting with P - what happened to them?

Challenge 2007 was the nearest to a correct result, even then one really wonders when you HEAR Amanat Ali singing back to back with Aneek (hear and not SEE)

Lil Champs 2008. Rohit Shamrao, Amir, Vibhor, Vasundhara, even Smita ???

Hi. I felt that the results was perfect. Eventhough I wanted RohanPreet to be the winner, The person deserve to win in Anamika, followed by RohanPreet and then Tanmay.. Infact, Vasundra was better than Tanmay, she should be 3rd. Anyway we cannot change the past.

But I felt really sad for Amir. He should be there at the finale. I am sure he must be very sad too. His parents and brother should have allowed Amir to attend the function. I am sure eveything will be alright. Amir’s future is being spoilt by his family.. They should think about Amir and forgive and forget. Amir is a good singer. If he did not win Sa re ga ma pa does not mean that he is a failure. He is a winner to be in the top 4 and his future will be very bright if his parents understands and support him.

I really hope Amir’s family realise their mistake and ask for forgiveness. It is for Amir, they have to do it.

thats true sandip… the dance steps were hard enough… if they had sung live (which i think is not advisable for newcomers as they need to practice very long to get it right) i think they would have been bad… specially tanmay who was struggling even without having to sing.

plus if you watch sonu you can see that he was also out of breath (with less dancing)..

with a heavy heart i have to agree with zee’s decision ( heavy hearted cos i have a love hate realtionship with zee…jut love to hate em ;) makes it more fun)

No, I think the songs were only pre-recorded.
If you care to search for Oct 14th issue of India times you will find that it was mentioned that all the singers did lip-sync to pre-recorded songs.

    @Sandipb,
Do you mean to say whatever Aditya or other people were saying on stage was also pre-recorded and they were just lip-syncing. I’m sure the I&B regulation (if it exists) does not apply just to songs, but also to whatever is said on the stage.

No musicbuff. It was totally pre-recorded. I read that in a number of news articles as well as from interviews by Raja, Amanat and Aneek.

I belive it is a guideline from our I&B ministry that if any unsocial, anti-national action or words are broadcasted during any such “live” shows, then the channel’s licence will be cancelled!
So nobody will take the risk! And we do not have the technology to broadcast these live shows after a few seconds delay so that any such word or action can be edited.

I don’t think Challenge 2007 Grand Finale had pre-recorded performances. You could easily tell that Amanat’s were not, especially “Bijuria”. I remember that one very well..he was gasping for breath due to dancing, and it reflected in his performance.

    Sandipb,
Well, the Grand Finale did not turn out so good. I was disappointed and, in fact, am surprised that nobody mentioned this. All the peformances were pre-recorded, with contestants lip-syncing on stage. What a mockery in the name of a live show!
No better than the SVOI (Adults) Finals and Grand Finale, which also had pre-recorded performances.
What kind of a lesson are we giving to these young kids?!!

Well congrats 2 anamika but i truly think dat rohanpreet deserved to be da winner as last year a girl also won so it would’ve been nice if a boy won dis year but jo hogaya so hogaya. The show was gr8 but I can’t believe dat amir waz not present der especially wen he waz in da top 4. It waz so nice to see Vibhore again and he looked sooo cute, loved his performance wid aditya. But one thing i dont understand is dat if rohanpreet got the most international votes how comes anamika won, i mean dat happened wid amanat too.
well i’m really gonna miss watchin saregamapa as i’ve become so addicted to it and most importantly i’m gonna miss watchin aditya=(, i can’t believe there waz no award or present 4 aditya, i mean waz everyone soo excited dat they forgot the most important one- aditya. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE KINDLY TELL ME WHERE I WOULD BE ABLE TO WATCH THE GRAND FINALE VIDEOS AGAIN PLEASE, I NORMALLY GET TO WATCH THE VIDEOS HERE BUT THEY AIN’T BEING UPLOADED FOR SOME REASON SO IF ANYONE KNOWS PLEASE TELL ME. THANK YOU!

Thanks a million to Sandipb. My question has been answered. I wrote this comment under another heading also and it was answered there. My concern when writing these posts was that Vasundhara’s family was not aware of, or might have had some financial issue stopping them from having a procedure done for her. It turns out that the family used to live in the United States. Vasundhara even had some schooling in the USA. That being said, I am sure that the family tried to give sight to their little angel. So, if anyone reads my previous posts and wonders what I wondered, this is the answer. I am also writing this to give Vasundhara’s family credit for trying.

Well, terwander, you mentioned how you wanted zee to do something for the top 10 contestants. All this time that i have been watching the show, something has been bothering me. Why hasn’t any one helped Vasundhara and hir family by connecting them with a representative of Sankara Eye Foundation? By the way her eyes look, they seem healthy enough that whatever ailment she has can possibly be cured. I do not know what ailment she has specifically but it is worth a try. Aanshi, i do not know how much of an inside source you may have, but if you know how I can get in touch with someone that can help post something and I can send you my email. I live in the United States and it should not cost too much for an operation in India. Thanks.

We Punjabi’s accept the result with a open heart. I feel rohan deserved to win but Anamika was good. Rohan had good showmanship, was sporting and was true to the Khalsa spirit. Sikhs are known for tremendous sacrifices and the attitude shown by rohan was commendable. I dont suspect there is any fiddling of the result but if there is it would be disappointing. I hope Zee will do somthing for the top ten including Amir. Forgive and forget about the parents outburst. Have some independant authority to verify the result the next time and lastly follow the rules. Ok bye for know

    I agree, beingfair. Let’s
face it.Because of certain circumstances, it was a little challenging for Vasundhara to compete and be right on par with the other contestants. She made it so far in to the competition, even though she may have had a difficult time of it. She should have been given some recognition. Not only for the reason mentioned but also because, to me, she is the true spark and motivation of the show.

you guys are missing the point.

The whole issue is about how the candidiate who was leading till the last minute suddenly comes second.

This time I will say that Anamika is the best of the final three in singing (not neccessarily of the final 10) but the issue here is about the NUMBER OF VOTES NOT WHO IS BEST

But i wish Anamika all the best.. she deserved to win it and i guess with her powerful voice she will definitely do well in the future.

One thing for sure is tht Amanat Ali was the best performer in the Sa re ga ma pa held last year though Aneek won..

Can it be coincidence? Also how do you explain how Rohan Preet’s large lead and Sharib Banjyothsna’s lead SUDDENLY dissolving?

I am basing my opinion on the results so far and not on any emotional or communal reactions but on what I feel about the voting trend.

For challenge 2007 Raja was my favorite and after that I switched over to Aneek because he was much better. I am part Bengali by the way so I repeat the non emotionality in my opinion.

EMET and Lil champs 2007 - the competitors who were runners up were leading with VERY LARGE margins until the final results were announced. Sharib Banjyothsna were leading Aishwarya and Ujjaini and until Friday it was Rohan Preet who had a HUGE lead.

Also, could notice that the whole program was about trying to MANIPULATE PUBLIC OPNION favoring Anamika. All that drama abt Smita Nandi’s father, etc. Even during Debojits time the farce of Ismail Darbar leaving the show, etc.

So far Aneek has been the only one who could be called deserving . EVEN HERE Raja was leading until the last moment

    RIGGED
