Review on Episode 8th of Saregamapa Challenge 2007 - 26th May 2007

Okie I am back with another review right after the SaReGaMaPa Challenge 2007 show.. As we all know today the rest 6 participants have to perform and from them 2 will get eliminated.

The episode starts with a rocking performance of Aditya along with Nirupama Dey of Rock Gharana and Sikandar Ali with a song Rock and Roll Soniye from the movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.

Himesh’s clipping was show where is he saying he has to go for Aap Ka Suroor shooting for two days and so he will not be able to come for the episode. Ashaji says he in not here for the episode but he has left his soul in the cap which she gives it to Shekhar. Shekhar then comes and gets Ashaji’s blessings and get the cap. Then Shekhar takes up the role of Himeshji and says “Jai Matadi Lets Rock”.

First Gharana to perform is Josh Gharana

Reecha Tripathi performs Na Re Saiyaan Ko Chodke Na Ja.

Comments from Mentors :-

ID - a very good improvement from the last episode
Shekhar - He is so funny… He tries to imitate Himesh. He held mike up in the air like Himesh does and “Aashiq Banaya” song is played in the background. Then he says he is back to his original style and says there was a tremendous improvement in her today.
Vishal - Vishal has a different opinion. He says there was some defect in the singing and it could have been sung better.
Bappida - Really good improvement.

Maha Guru’s comments: -

Ashaji - she asked Reecha to perform confidently and get involved in the character and she thinks she has kept my advice while singing.

Next Gharana - Yalgar Gharana

Wasi Effandi sings Lagan lag gayi hai tujhse meri lagan lagi. During his performance a clipping is shown where is playing in sea water and enjoying eating golgappa.

Jyoti Mishra sings Mere Haath Mein Tera Haath Ho and a clipping is shown how Ismailji is shown her giving training.

Comments from the Mentors: -

Vishal - Wais is a good singer but he didnt sing upto his potential. And Jyothi is still not involved in the song.
Shekhar - Jyothi didn’t sing properly. Her voice was not coming out properly. Looked like she is singing without opening her mouth. “Dabi Dabi” si awaz aa rahi thi.
ID - They both performed as he thought he would. He promised that he will take Jyoti far in next four years.

Comments from Maha Guru: -

Ashaji advised Jyoti how to sing. She said that she is not giving the throw and there are no expressions or feelings at all. She added that the lyrics are such that you can make it look it anyways. You can make it romantic, sad or even cabaret. So she must concentrate on such things.

Then Ashaji sang for Jyoti to explain how many versions of the song can be done. Then Jyoti requests her that she will sing again. Vishal objects and says that the judgment has to be made on the previous performance and not after listening from Ashaji. Ashaji comments that this is only to make her understand the mistake she is making. So she wont make that mistake again. Jyoti sings the whole song again. And it was so much better than the previous performance. All the mentors enjoyed her this performance and shekhar commented only in 4 minutes there is so much improvement. Ismail ji commented on this that world is round and it will take her time to come around this world and thats why he said it will 4 years for him to make her a star. To this Ashaji objected and said no one can make anyone star. God makes that person a star and sends them to earth.

Next to Perform is Hit Squad Gharana

Imran Aslam Mohammad from South Africa and Sarika Singh are the ones to perform today. Imran sings Tere Naam Humne Kiya Hai and Sarika performed on Behke hai Mann kahin.

Comments from the mentors: -

Vishal- He is proud to have Sarika in his gharana and she is very good singer. But he thinks she was little bit out of sur as she chose to sing like Sunidhi Chauhan. Shekhar was happy as well with her performance. They both were disappointed at Imran’s performance and thought he is probably out of the competition based on today’s performance.

Ismail Darbar- She is really good singer as well a good cook.

Bappida - Sarika performed really well.

Maha Guru’s Comments.

Ashaji - Sarika is singing in one style and doesnt have that much throw in her voice.

Rock Gharana is next to perform on stage

Joy Chakrobarty performs on O Humdum Suniyo Re. Shekhar encouraged him and said if Himesh were there he would have wanted him to give his best. Shekhar than says Lets Rock the world and Joy starts his performance.

Comments from the mentors:-

Vishal - Impressed Vishal said he gave the right amount of energy that was required for the song.
Ismail ji- You are a great great performer
Bappida - He said if he gets a chance he will definitely give Joy a chance to sing in his movie.
Shekhar - Himesh would have been so happy to see this performance. Great performance

Maha Guru’s Comments

Ashaji - She was dancing inside as he sang the song. Shekhar said that if Himesh were here he would have said tumhe ROTI zaroor milegi. Even Ashaji joined in saying that. It was so hilarious. Himesh and his Roti saga..

Results

Imran Aslam Mohammad from Johannesburg, South Africa - Hit Squad Gharana is out as per Ashaji’s judgment.

Ashaji gave farman to Aditya and then came on the stage to leave. All the mentors sang a song and gave her a heart warming farewell.

Sarika Singh of Hit Squad is out today. Vishal-Shekhar disagreed to Ashaji’s performance and said there were many weak contestants and Sarika was better. Ismail Darbar and Bappida even agreed on this. Meanwhile Sarika gets unconscious and medical emergency is called upon. Sadly at the end of the show she was shown taken out of the stage.

Hope Sarika feels better. Let me know what you feel about today’s review. It was like a Roller Coaster ride. There were some really good performance and some good advices by our mentors and Maha Guru. Ashaji was really good but I think her judgment of eliminating Sarika was not proper.

I think Joy sang best, what energy he had in his performance. I will be back with the video in next few hours. Till then have a great day and take care..

From my point of view, Sarika should stay in the competition,and Jyoti needs to go out it.. She has sung very well specially difficult song.. I would give vote to Sarika..
