She likes Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. She is one strong contestant in Saregamapa Challenge 2007.
She has tremendous confidence while she sings and is gifted with beautiful voice. She is one promising singers amongst the girls. She belongs to Ismail Darbar’s Yalgar Gharana. Her selection of songs are also admired by other mentors.

Ismail Darbar is out of work simply because he stuck with only Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has now signed up some other Music Director. Soon Himesh will also be out of work, and both HR and ID will be spending their precious time together. Both of them being such a scrupulous lot. Who can forget the betrayal and breach of trust on their part. HR betraying Musarrat and ID betraying Poonam. Even during the last performance, none of the Gurus came onto the stage to congratulate Poonam for her rendition of Kuhu Kuhu bole. Mind you, these same gurus left opportunity go by to accompany other contestants on stage. Kuhu Kuhu is such a difficult and complex song, made up of three Raags, that no one has ever tried or attempted to sing it anywhere. But Poonam not just did the unthinkable she even sung it flawlessly with smooth transition from one raag to another. Pandit Jasraj complimented all the singers, but except for Poonam he never did consider anyone to be a perfect singer in term of Classical music. He said she is born to sing classical music. Shame on HR for constantly bringing up her backstory, which made people think she was getting only sympathy votes, thus turning others away from her. Shame on ID for leaving Poonam like an orphan. She is the only true singer along with Amanat and Musarrat, while the rest can only be termed as performers or entertainers.

Poonam is the best of the lot. Unfortunately this show business and the caliber/quality of singing does not get its due. It is unfair but it is not logical to expect logical conclusions in these reality shows. But i would expect Ismail Durbar to ive her a chance but unfortunately he himself is unemployed, while Mr H Reshmaiyya seems to be calling the shots, even though his music sucks he seems to sell. That is what counts.

Poonam you r a great singer. Along with Amaanat and Mussarat you are the best singer. Aneek is good but too much hype is attached to him. Somehow one gets the feeling he will win with plenty of manipulations on his behalf.
Amaanat, Mussarat You Poonam and Mauli were the life of the show.
Mussarat is missed and if you or Amaanat go we will know the winner was fixed.

To all the fans of Poonam,
What are you people doing. On Sept 15, 2007, Ismail Darbar made Poonam sing such a unknown song which neither Bappi Lahiri no Vishal Shekhar heard before. Thus she is on the verge of elimination. Have you people voted for her in large numbers. Please do anything to stop getting her eliminated because, the world of music needs her. She is the best thing to have happened in a long long time. She is the perfect replacement for Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar. Till now she has not been offered any contract, while all and sundry are getting them. If any one of you has got any contact at right places kindly ensure that she get as many contracts as possible so that she does not go back to that PCO booth to earn Rs. 600 per month. I have already written to atleast three big names in the music industry, but am not sure if they will respond. Poonam you are the best. It is not because of sympathy factor that we like you, we like because of your immense talent, and for being a great person. Wish you all the best.

I have been following this show very closely, and listened to all the contestants. I have found only Poonam to be a complete flawless singer. Just listen to “Hungama ho gaya” from Anhonee, “Khallas” from Company, and “Shubu Shubu” from Anamika, you will realise that Poonam has sung these songs on par with Asha Bhosle (who is my favorite female singer). She also sang “Der na ho jaye”, “Dil to pagal hai” and “Vande Matram” very much like Lata Mangeshkar. Everyone has got their own favorites, but tell me if a singer can match the calibre of stalwarts like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, don’t you people think she is the best of the lot. She has got the most powerful voice in SGMP 2007. It is rather unfortunate that while other not so good contestants are getting contracts left right and center, no one seems to care for this little genius, called Poonam. Even Ismail Darbar is recording with Mauli, why not with Poonam. Why do we need Mauli, we already have a Sunidhi Chauhan, and she can be ably supported by Vasudhara Das or Shipa Rao. Lata and Asha are at the end of their career, we do need someone to fill their shoes, and who better than an exact replica of their combined class, Poonam Yadav. Please vote for her the maximum you can, to ensure that she, and only she wins the competition.

Hi poonam aditya call’s you pocket size power house i agree. As your power is your dedication and your voice you sing by your heart this makes you enter in every one’s heart. I am not telling after knowing your story. seeing you first time on stage with that beautiful smile and that confidence in yoourself made me think of you. Your are a inspiration for all those people who dont look after their mom and dad. Inspite of the adverse circumstances, you have reached the stage of saregamapa…..this shows your fighting spirit and guts. According to me you have already won this contest.
