Ismail Darbar was born in a family whose four generations were musicians. Ismail was initially trained by his own fathe - Husain. He learnt playing violin. Later on he took training from Pandit Ramprasad Sharma, the late father of composer Pyarelal and later on from Ganesh - Panditji’s son.

Ismail Darbar in his early years of career played violin for leading music directors like Lakshmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Bappi Lahiri, Rajesh Roshan, Anand-Milind, Nadeem-Shravan, Jatin-Lalit and even A.R.Rahman. He was recommended by Kunal to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a top director of Bollywood movies.

The team of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ismail Darbar created sheer magic and their songs were super duper hit. Songs from the movie like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devadas are still considered to be one of the best compositions. Ismail never want to compromise on quality. He always wants to stick to quality and originality of all the projects that he has one and will do in the future. He selects very few movies where he can give weightage to culural Indian music.

    I think as a guru u have proved to ue students that u are very intense. But sorry to say when u say ‘Amanat kay votes aneek ko dedai’ that is a sign of submission and surrender. I think u might aswell wear poonams chooriya cos ure not firm at all. Amaanat does not need any ones comment cos the fact is he is hardworking and being in India mashallah he has proven evryone wrong and also me and he is way above the competition. It would have been so easy for him to have a father like udit narayan giving him a dummy and get lots of offers but mashallah he is a true man. Remember one thing - and correct Miki it is so easy to dance cos any singer could make u dance go to any weddings any singer who does not know how to sing could do that - but its fine art to make people cry. I could have sang the same song as Amaanat but I dont think I could do what he did with the audience and dominated their feelings with the passion of his voice and singing. So learn to be more factual i do respect when u give criticisms to him thats fine but I think its about time that u learn something from amanaat cos i think he is the true guru of saregampa 2007 for singing cos his background is more solid than ures. U make me laugh cos u r a joker!!!! I think Amanaat is knocking some sense to you now cos other people are shouting that he is the best. The only thing i cud say please grow up and have a bath it might make the diference!!!! or retire cos u look stressed out man!!! hahaahahahahaah

    I like amanat from bottom of my heart.

    But ID the way he went with Raja, its hurting.

    truly he became a dishonest person( I will hate him and HR forever). Him and HR nailing and insulting raja for 15 minutes thats ever I have seen in a talent show. They fear to face Raja’s talent, that the fact came out.

    If u are an honest person just go, view 05oct video in this site on Raja’s Sayoo song and listen those comments.

    Then maybe you could able recognize real faces. They are just defending their own contestant. ID and HR made a separate forum against VS.

    VS geuine people with genuine talent hunt process.

    Poonam deserved to get out. It was about time. What are the ppl trying to achieve by repeatedly showing her story on the show. she did get the votes cuz of sympathy. Compared to her some of the other girls performed far better. This contest is about ’singing’ its NOT about ‘emotions going haywire!’. No offense to anyone.

    Hi Ismail Ji,
    I like you as you are original and classical of the music directors. You seem to be going through a bad patch in terms of film asignments. But I have a feeling that you were conned-or put in a position where you were forced to act less than fairly. Your association with Mr. Reshmaiyya is not good foryour image.
    I still believe Poonam was one fo the best in the contest and she deserved to be in the last threee or two. rather the best.
    But she appeared to get more “sympathy” than credit that she is due. Also we see all the others getting some singing assignments but she did not get any. It looks like glamour plays a role in singing also, which is more a technical/articstic discipline?

    This Gharana System is a BIG BS. Specially with JERKS Like HR there. Look at Indian Idol. Show has some grace. Saregamapa looks more like Nukkad Ki Nautanki.

    ID should stay away from HR. This guy (or girl) is a big FREAK. He is as Controversial and Freak a character as RAKHEE SAWANT. Always wants to be center of attraction even iof thast means stripping himself.

    I have been saying it in this forum right from the beginning that Poonam is not getting her due credits. She has been only a topic of symapathy for her hardships in life. I think instead of that she should get more hypes in terms of her performance. SHe has the potential to be the topper. She is excellent.

    Dear All Judges,

    I guess in S, Re Ga Ma Pa whole process is mess now.

    I guess you all need to decide contestants are not from any Gharana anymore.

    No Judges should support any of these contestants anymore.

    All you need to encourage public to vote or participate.

    I think you all need to week up now and talk each other for now and future SRGMP;

    Especially something wrong with bappida, Himesh, and sometimes both of you. You all need to stop taking side for your own contestants; Ismailji is more or less fair. But again I meant all judges. Himeshji talk little too much.

    I guess Bappida to much with Mauli though she is not a good singer at all. She sings like a Friday nightclub performer and truth is She is not a singer that SRGMP looking for.

    I see prospect in top six Poonam, Raja, Amanat, Aneek, shumeda and Mussarrat.

    Vishal Shekar was saying Junaid had throat infection. Harpeet not feeling well since he came in the show. is this for sympathy to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    And it doesn’t look great when a judge walks in the stage after anyone good performance.

    Fact is that actual singer should always keep himself or herself ready for the show.

    “They will be judged by their presentation, clothing, music, quality of voice, and stage or audience performances” Not by sexy appeal, Jokes, Love story, or for salam / pronam.

    You all 5 of them can choose these five categories and mark accordingly. So, that help audience can pick TRUE singer.

    Hi,

    I just want to say something about the contest. I have seen the 11th Aug episode and have notieced one thing about Ismalji that he was shaking head (- ve) when Mouli was singing. I think he is not suppose to do that. That might be responsible for loosing candidate’s confidence. Whatever might be his opinion about the candidate they should not show up unless and untill candidate is done. No doubt ismailji is a great musician. That’s it..

    You are one of the best composers I have seen , and beside a comoser, I can say that you are a great human being. The way you have blessed Poonam and stood by her, is incredible and I know that you have not done all these to make her win, but you can feel the pain she had gone through… God bless you in every steps of your life. Agar aap jesa guru kisiko bhi mile, wo na life main harega na hi singing main. I respect you as a human being more than anything else.
